Cylinder gas is a gas that is filled under very high pressure. The gas is filled into a cylinder, which is either a pressure vessel or a tank that can hold the gas without any leakage and without any wear and tear. Cylinder gas has found various applications in the industry as well as for domestic purposes.

Let us start with applications for domestic purposes. Cylinder gas is used very extensively in homes. Typically, LPG or liquefied petroleum gas, propane or butane is pumped into a cylinder. Cylinder gas, mainly in the form of oxygen, is provided to pilots of rockets and other human satellites that are launched by space institutions such as NASA, ISRO and others. Small sized cylinders filled with oxygen are also provided to divers who dive to great depths in the ocean and ocean for research purposes. Cylinder gas is also used for cutting and welding purposes.

These days, cylinder gas has found many applications in the transportation industry.
